  • ACCC Updates
    • CrashPlan/Backup Update
      • A group is working to get the Webstore involved, so that units can purchase from them
      • Summary of CrashPlan’s purpose for backups
      • Hopes are to fund this through the strategic roadmap as part of campus bundle
      • Discussion of license costs and the implications of not having a BAA
      • Memorandum of Understanding will be sent out on the incomplete BAA
    • Email/Calendaring
      • Vendors have been met with, one should be selected soon
    • Secure Storage
      • This is still moving forward
  • Information and Discussion
    • Accessibility
      • Members are hoping that accessibility is considered in the ITGC proposal review
      • Consideration of adding a question for proposals that asks if the project has been assessed on how it impacts IT accessibility for people with disabilities
      • Proposal will be modified and sent to committee listserv for review
    • UIC Branding
      • Concerns voiced on new branding standards for the campus as far as digital accessibility goes
      • Discussion of creating a list of concerns to present to the branding committee
    • Strategic Plan Funding
      • Suggestion that there will be a rate that units will have to plan for
      • Rate and funding is an important discussion with the upcoming budget cuts
    • FaCT
      • Group is working to determine eligibility and then will begin
      • Next step is to confirm all eligible to receive a new machine this year
    • AV Vendor Performance
      • Discussions have occurred between ACCC and vendors on improving the image to the campus, and meeting the needs of the state
      • Also working to have a base service level agreement for the IPECH contract on service expectations
      • Discussion of consolidating UIC feedback on particular vendor services
    • Disabling Off Campus Email
      • Have been slowdowns in migrating, about 51% compliance
      • Accounts are beginning to be suspended after third notices

    • Telecom Discussion
      • Some units have a desire for automatic call distribution, other add-ons to VOIP
      • Suggestion to put together a group to create a proposal on moving forward here
      • Unified Communications is not currently a top ACCC priority, but suggestions were made to make it immediate and integrated
    • Exchange Calendar Integration
      • Discussion of trouble scheduling appointments with people in units not using Exchange calendars
    • Regional Subcommittee
      • In progress, more membership information is coming in
    • Electronic Document Management Subcommittee Proposal
      • Have decided to use Laserfiche on campus
      • Committee is to review proposal for discussion at January meeting
      • Information will be on ACCC website
      • There will be no central funding, units will buy their own licenses
    • Virtual Machine Environment for High Risk Data
      • Uses VM infrastructure
      • ACCC has to provide a secure environment for access & analysis of high risk data
      • Research Committee is partnering with InfraSec to put together a former proposal to bring to the Council
      • Discussion of how the VM environment will be formed, function, grow, etc.
    • Symantec Server Proposal
      • Presentation on the server: why it is needed, how it might be implemented
      • Presentation advocates for a centralized service available to all units
      • Approved Motion: Motion to suspend the ten day rule for this vote passed
      • Approved Motion: Motion to consider the Symantec Server proposal passed
    • UISO Kickoff
      • Idea is to explain dynamics to new people, then jump into first quarter roll-outs
      • For risk management, there are still three colleges outstanding

      • Approved Motion: Motion to investigate and recommend one or more standard campus supporting systems to address needs for an automated attendant and automated call distributor passed
