  • Blackboard Recycle Bin
    • Discussion of the large amount of space taken up by Recycle Bin
      • When instructors or students delete a file on Blackboard, it goes to the bin
      • Consideration of implementing a retention policy
      • Discussion of retention timeline, when to implement, and how long to retain items
      • Consideration of whether or not recycled private data can be “endangered”
      • Approved Motion: Motion to set Blackboard recycle bin retention period to 30 days was approved
  • Blackboard Update
    • Discussion of recent outages
      • Currently working with Blackboard to determine what caused the problems
      • A full report from Blackboard lacked details, ACCC is following up on this
      • ACCC is also helping to monitor and prevent the situation in the future
      • Discussion on the difficulty of determining how and what to communicate to campus when such issues arise
      • Discussion of working with ACCC to improve communication with status updates
      • A message will be sent to campus once more information is gathered
