  • High Performance Computing (HPC)
    • Discussion on status of equipment/shipping
    • Cluster should be up and running by fall semester
    • New hires are being considered
    • Discussion on physical security of cluster and FERPA
    • Discussion of building an ongoing conversation between HPC project and the National Center for Supercomputer Applications (NCSA)
    • Consideration of having an executive committee with a user group to manage the cluster
      • Structure, membership, process, and embedding must be determined
  • Institutional Stewardship of Data
    • Data Management/Data Curation
      • Membership and expectations have been set
      • Discussion of working on a needs assessment
      • Assessment deadline was discussed: May 31st
      • Group has looked at existent services and ways of improving process
      • A final recommendation should be ready by end of summer
    • Research Data Management and Security
      • Discussion of working to move research data to a clinical trial mgmt. system
      • OnCore is being considered
      • Discussion of budget, funding, and grants
      • Discussion on importance of having a template that points to policies and procedures for the campus, and maps procedures to regulations
    • Regulations and Mandates
      • Discussion of group needing a chair
      • Discussion of charge creation and purpose
      • Meeting with IRB to discuss current process was discussed
  • Campus Cyberinfrastructure—Network Infrastructure and Engineering Program (CC-NIE)
    • Continued discussion of National Science Foundation grant and grant writing
      • Discussion of Ignite grant

    • Identity Access Management (IAM)
      • A suggestion was discussed to have Shibboleth provide additional info to make it easier for researchers to participate in activities related to the fed gov’t
      • This has been implemented
      • Brief discussion of the IAM project in Urbana
